sobosuba: Jelly Merge is a physics puzzle for iPhone. Your job is to combine equal-number jelly blocks into larger numbers while leaving room on the board. There are two places to merge: the top rail and the playfield below it.
Read the board before you launch
At the top of the game, the rail holds the jellies you can move and launch. Below it is the playfield, where launched blocks land, wobble and pile up. The two side switches are worth watching throughout a run: when both are activated, the run ends. Your score and personal best give you something to work toward, but the space around the pile matters just as much as the largest number on it.
Slide equal numbers together at the top
Touch a jelly on the top rail and slide it toward another jelly with the same number. Matching blocks can merge while they are still on the rail. You do not need to launch every block separately. For example, two 2 blocks combine into a 4. Check the top rail before choosing a shot; a merge there may give you a more useful number to send into the pile.
Pull down to aim, then release
To launch, pull a jelly away from the top rail and down into the playfield. Use the drag to aim, then release. Think about where the matching number is and how much room surrounds it. The board uses moving, deformable jelly shapes, so a landing can shift the pile. Watch the result before planning the next launch.
Let matching numbers combine below
Matching jellies also merge in the playfield. A useful shot can bring equal numbers together; the newly formed block then becomes part of the moving pile. For a first run, focus on a visible matching number with open space around it. As the board changes, reconsider your next target rather than repeating the same landing point.
Understand the end of a run
The loss condition is both side switches being activated. It is not simply a rule that the pile reaches the top edge. Keep at least one side switch clear. If one side is crowded, look for a merge that could make more room before sending another block there. The restart button starts a fresh board; the speaker controls sound and the pause button opens the pause menu. Your personal best is stored on your device.
